The terms we train on.

1. About us

UMAC (Unity Martial Arts Club) is operated by Unity Elite Martial Arts Club L.L.C, trade licence number 1641976, issued by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). “We”, “us” and “UMAC” mean that company. “You” means the member, or the parent or guardian who enrols a member under 18 years and who is responsible for these terms on their behalf.

2. Membership and enrolment

Membership starts when we confirm your enrolment and the first payment has been made. Membership is personal to the member and cannot be transferred or shared.

You must give accurate enrolment information, including the health information described below, and tell us if it changes. We may refuse or end a membership where information given to us is materially wrong or incomplete.

3. Free trial

We offer a free trial class so that a prospective member can try the academy before committing. A trial is strictly limited to one session per person and is available to prospective members of all ages, subject to the age-appropriateness of the relevant class. A trial is subject to space in the relevant class, completion of the health declaration, and the same conduct and safety rules as any other session.

4. Fees and payment

Membership fees are those published on our official pricing page or explicitly agreed with you in writing at the time of your enrolment. All fees are payable monthly in advance, with payment due on the 2nd day of every calendar month.

To maintain active membership status and guarantee your placement in your designated classes, payment must be cleared by the due date. Failure to settle monthly fees by the 2nd of the month may result in a temporary suspension of academy access until the balance is resolved.

We may change fees on 7 days’ notice. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for.

5. Cancellation, freezing and refunds

You may cancel a membership by giving us 30 days’ notice in writing, including by WhatsApp to the number on our contact page.

We can freeze a membership for travel, injury or illness, for a maximum of 7 days per calendar year. All membership freezes are subject to a standard administration fee of AED 50 per request. Medical evidence is required to support any freeze request due to injury or illness.

Fees already paid are non-refundable. Nothing here removes any right to a refund that UAE consumer law gives you.

6. Classes, timetable and access

Classes run to the published timetable. We may change the timetable, a coach, or the content of a class, and we may cancel a session, for example for a public holiday, a competition, maintenance or low attendance. Where we cancel a session, we will offer a make-up class.

Members should arrive on time, in the required kit, and be ready to train. Coaches may refuse entry to a session where arriving late would make it unsafe to join.

7. Health, fitness and medical declaration

Martial arts training is physically demanding. You confirm that the member is in good enough health to take part, and you must tell us about any injury, medical condition, allergy or medication that could affect their safety in class, and update us if it changes.

If you are unsure whether training is suitable — including during pregnancy, after an injury, or with a heart, joint or respiratory condition — get medical advice before enrolling. Coaches are not medical professionals and cannot give medical advice.

8. Assumption of risk

Kickboxing is a contact sport. Even with proper coaching, supervision and equipment, training carries a real risk of injury including bruising, sprains, fractures and, rarely, more serious injury. Sparring and competition carry a higher risk than technical or fitness classes.

By enrolling, you acknowledge that risk and accept it for yourself or on behalf of the member. We manage it by matching members to age-appropriate programmes, requiring protective equipment, controlling contact levels by grade and age, and supervising every session.

9. Conduct

We expect everyone at UMAC to:

• Follow the coaches’ instructions at all times, especially on contact levels during sparring.
• Treat other members, coaches and staff with respect, regardless of age, grade or ability.
• Wear the required kit and protective equipment for the session.
• Keep the training area and changing areas clean, and observe basic hygiene — short nails, no jewellery, clean kit.
• Never use what they learn here outside the academy except in genuine self-defence.

10. Children and supervision

We supervise children during their class. We are not responsible for children before or after their session, and a parent or guardian is responsible for dropping off and collecting them punctually.

Parents or guardians of children in our youngest age group (Little Kickers, ages 4–7) are required to remain on the premises for the duration of the session.

11. Gradings, competitions and performance testing

Gradings and competition entries follow the WAKO and UAE MKFED pathways and may carry separate fees. Entry is at the coach’s discretion based on readiness, and readiness is a safety judgement rather than a matter of time served.

SPSA performance testing is optional. Results, H-Score and training plans are provided as guidance for training and are not a medical assessment or a prediction of competitive outcome.

12. Personal property

Bring as little of value as you can. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property brought onto the premises, except where the loss is caused by our negligence.

13. Our responsibility to you

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill, by suitably qualified coaches, in facilities kept in reasonable condition.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UAE law. In accordance with Article 296 of the UAE Civil Code, any condition purporting to exempt a party from liability for a harmful act (tortious liability) shall be void, and nothing herein shall be construed to waive such statutory non-waivable rights.

14. Suspending or ending a membership

We may suspend or end a membership where a member repeatedly breaches these terms or the conduct rules, behaves in a way that puts others at risk, or where fees remain unpaid after we have asked for them.

Where we end a membership for conduct, no refund will be given for the unused part of a paid period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects you we will give 7 days’ notice and tell members directly. Continuing to train after that means accepting the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute, difference, or claim arising out of or relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Dubai (excluding the DIFC Courts).
