Juniors

Play becomes purpose: belts start to mean something and discipline becomes a habit, not a rule.

Our Juniors programme shifts the focus from play to purpose. As children grow, so does the structure around them — this is where belts start to mean something, goals feel personal, and discipline becomes a habit rather than a rule.

  • For children aged 8 to 12, beginners and returning students alike.
  • One-hour sessions, seven days a week (see times below).
  • Gradings follow the WAKO and UAE MKFED pathway.
  • Gloves and helmet are required from yellow belt onwards.

What age is the Juniors programme for?
Juniors is for children aged 8 to 12. Beginners and children returning to martial arts are both welcome.
Are there belt gradings?
Yes. Gradings follow the WAKO and UAE MKFED pathway. Entry to a grading is at the coach’s discretion and gradings may carry a separate fee.
What equipment does my child need?
The UMAC starter kit (T-shirt and shorts) on enrolment, and gloves and a helmet from yellow belt onwards.
When do Juniors train?
Monday to Thursday 4:30–5:30 pm, Friday 2:30–3:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10:15–11:15 am at the UMAC Main Academy in Al Quoz.
How many sessions a week should my child do?
Memberships run from one to four-plus sessions a week. Most children start with one or two and build up — the coaches will advise after the trial.
